# 2021
> Updates and improvements to Superthread in 2021
## Features
* Watchers – receive notifications when changes are made to a card or page you are watching. You'll automatically become a watcher of a page or card when you create, edit, comment on, or are mentioned in it. Click the 'eye' icon to un-watch something.
* Resize images in Pages – just drag the handles on either side of the image to expand and contract it.
* View full size images in Pages – you can now click on inline images to view them at their full size.
* You can now copy a link to the current page by hovering over the breadcrumb path of Pages, Boards, and Projects.
## Improvements
* The sign up flow is now responsive and works on mobile.
* We've tweaked the explainer text for workspaces and projects in the sign up flow.
## Bug fixes
* Fixed an issue where dragging cards between boards would not store the position of the card in the list correctly.
* Fixed an issue where adding an image or link to a Page would cause the scroll position to jump to the top of the Page.
* Dragging a card from a fully open board to another board no longer causes a visual bug with the drop target in the new board.
* Pressing Cmd + B in a card description or comments now correctly bolds highlighted text instead of attempting to create a new board.
## Improvements
* We've made our drop targets smarter. It's now easier to drag and drop a card in to a board that only has one list.
* We now say 'invite team members' instead of 'invite external people' to clarify the team member invite flow.
## Bug fixes
* Safari sign up and log in should now work – we made a change to our log in flow which means Safari's default pop-up and cookie policies should no longer interfere with our sign up process.
* Fixed an issue where the button to 'restore' an archived Card was overlapping with the 'close' icon.
* Fixed an issue where the breadcrumb path was showing 'undefined' in an archived Card/Board/Page.
* Fixed incorrect positioning of text in the invite team members modal.
* Lists in Boards now load more smoothly in Firefox.
* Fixed an occasional issue where using your browser's 'back' button would not correctly navigate the app to the previous page.
* Fixed an issue where navigating to a Board via your Favourites list meant you couldn't add or move Cards in it.
* The 'copy link' icon displayed in a Card's breadcrumb and by Page headings (anchor link) now correctly disappear when you stop hovering over them in Firefox.
* Fixed an issue where Boards would struggle to open if your browser was set to 75% zoom.
* Fixed an issue where a Project you had just joined would disappear from the sidebar after navigating away from it.
## Features
* Toggle sections in Pages – you can now create expandable sections in Pages.
* Duplicate Cards – for repetitive tasks, you can now copy a card. Only the card title, description, and checklist items (if applicable) are copied over.
* We've added a new overview video to the website.
## Improvements
* We've tweaked the text that is displayed when you have an empty list of Boards, or Pages in a Project.
* The toast notification messages that provide interaction feedback have been repositioned to show up in the bottom right corner of the window.
* You can now click anywhere on the word 'Projects' in the sidebar to create a new, or browse existing projects.
* We've updated the text and behaviour of the 'Create a project' modal to better explain what a project is.
## Bug fixes
* Fixed an issue where adding a Child Card to a parent would sometimes fail, even though it looked successful.
* Fixed an issue where commas in card titles would not be displayed properly in internal link previews.
* Fixed an issue where you could edit a card to have no title from the Card preview.
## Features
* New website – we've spruced up the design, added screenshots, and explained a little more about what we're up to. And of course, it's lightning fast to load.
* You can now create a new card directly from the board preview.
* Epic Cards are now highlighted in blue in the board preview.
## Improvements
* We've added consistent icons for boards in the board list.
* We've moved the 'open full board' button over to the right hand side of the board preview so it's less far to mouse over to it from the sidebar.
## Bug fixes
* Using Cmd + Z to undo changes to the card title no longer defocusses the card title input.
* When editing a list title, dragging your cursor across the text will now select the text instead of horizontally scrolling the board.
* Pressing tab whilst selecting somebody from the @mention dropdown no longer adds a space.
* The icon for opening the collapsed sidebar is now visible in Safari.
* Fixed an issue where adding a child card to an epic didn't always save.
## Features
* Internal link previews – when you paste a Superthread link anywhere inside of Superthread, we'll transform the URL in to a beautiful preview of the Card, Page, Board, Project that you're linking to.
## Improvements
* Internal links (links to other parts of your Superthread workspace) now open in the same browser tab.
## Bug fixes
* Opening a link from your favourites now correctly includes the human readable link in the address bar.
* Fixed an issue which meant sometimes draft pages could not be published.
* Fixed an issue in Pages where adding a checklist item sometimes caused a double checkbox to appear.
* The 'copy link' icon in a Card breadcrumb is now easier to click.
* Copying a Card link from the breadcrumbs now copies the human readable link.
* Our automatic detection of URLs that you paste in to Superthread is now much more reliable and consistent.
## Features
* Child card ordering – the list of child cards in an epic can now be manually ordered using drag and drop.
## Improvements
* The member selector dropdown no longer updates the sort order whilst the dropdown is open and you are interacting with the list.
## Bug fixes
* Fixed an issue where you could not update a list title in a board.
* The skip button on the 'invite team members' step now correctly shows in the sign up flow.
* Clicking on the board name in the Card breadcrumb now correctly navigates you to the board.
## Features
* Mentions – you can now @mention team members throughout Superthread.
* If you are mentioned in a Card, you will also automatically become a watcher of the Card so you receive updates for subsequent comments etc.
## Features
* Drag and drop Cards between projects – drag a card in to a project in the sidebar, hover for a second to confirm your selection, then continue dragging to your desired board/list in the new project – simple.
* New sidebar – it's skinnier, can be fully hidden, has a new colour, and the items in it have been arranged to make navigation simpler.
* Favourites section – quickly navigate to your favourite Boards and Pages by clicking on them from the sidebar.
* Redesigned Board view – Boards now open in a full screen modal with a thinner header. Card previews are also smaller and less cluttered so that you can fit more on screen at once.
* Quick assigning – add or remove people to Cards directly from the Board view, without having to open the full card.
* Navigation breadcrumbs – easily keep track of where you are in the app using our trail of breadcrumbs in the header of Boards, Cards, and Pages.
* Readable URLs – copy/pasting URLs will now include the title of the Card/Page/Board to make them easier to read outside of Superthread.
* New tags flow – creating new tags, editing existing tags, and adding tags to Cards has been completely redesigned to hopefully feel a lot more intuitive.
## Improvements
* When dragging a Board, it will now shrink down to just the title of the board making it easier to see the drop target behind it.
* Setting custom icons and colours for boards and lists has been removed. We now use consistent icons/colours across the app to indicate if something is a board or card etc.
* The Boards and Pages tabs have been removed from projects and now show as sections in the sidebar instead.
* The 'Archived' section has been moved into the workspace dropdown at the top of the sidebar.
* Dragging a card in to a collapsed board preview will now automatically expand the board preview to make it easier to choose where to drop it.
* Page titles have reduced padding so there is more room to read page content on small screens.
* Checklists in Pages were already working with markdown, now there is a button for them in the toolbar too.
* New 404 page for bad links.
## Bug fixes
* The title of Pages no longer become miss-aligned on small screens.
* Copy/pasting a checklist into a Page no longer converts it to a bullet list.
* When joining a project, the member selector dropdown in that project now updates instantly to include yourself as an option.
* App navigation no longer breaks when clicking on a notification that opens in a different project to the one you were viewing.
* Dragging files on to a card that was opened from the board preview now correctly uploads them as attachments.
* Editing the title of a checklist in a Card no longer causes the titles of other checklists in the same card to change.
## Features
* New team member interface – click on the list of avatars to view who's been added to a project/board/card. Use the checkboxes to add/remove members, and if you can't find somebody, just click 'Invite external people' to send them an invite email – real simple.
## Improvements
* Card members are now called 'Assignees'.
* The list of member avatars in a project/board will now always show in a consistent order between page reloads (previously was a random order).
* Pages with cover images will now scale appropriately for easier reading on small screens.
## Bug fixes
* After opening a card from the board preview and then leaving a comment, you could not use Esc to close the card again.
* Adding an image to a Page using the toolbar UI now correctly saves the image after publishing.
## Bug fixes
* Using keyboard arrows to select search results now consistently opens the right result.
* The actions sidebar in cards is now scrollable on smaller screens.
## Features
* Views (saved searches) – create custom views of any cards/boards/pages from across your workspace that you can save and share with your team.
* Paste images from your clipboard into Pages and Cards and they will be uploaded as inline attachments – great for people that take lots of screenshots.
* Anchor links in Pages – copy a link directly to a specific heading section in your Pages.
## Improvements
* It is now easier to escape inline code formatting by pressing the right and left keyboard arrows to move the cursor in and out of the code.
## Bug fixes
* Fixed a rare issue where typing would not work when using modifier keys (e.g shift, space).
* When adding a new item to a checklist, it will no longer be pre-filled with the item above it.
* Card previews will now show the correct number of items in a checklist without having to refresh the page.
* Fixed an issue with some Pages not showing up in search results.
## Features
* Advance Search – you can filter search results by resource type (card, page, board, project) and include/exclude archived content.
* Page title now gets highlighted in search results.
* Archive – you can now browse archived items and un-archive them.
## Improvements
* Strikethrough formatting now works with a single \~ either side of the text (same as Slack).
* The info sidebar for projects now displays who created the project.
## Bug fixes
* Card descriptions were sometimes being overwritten with empty data when no edits were made after clicking into edit mode and back out.
* Removing the URL from a link in Pages now works.
* Fixed an issue where sometimes you could not delete the last 2 characters when renaming a list in a Board.
* Uploading file attachments using drag and drop now updates the count of attachments on a card correctly.
* Team invite links now work consistently.
* Updating your profile information no longer overwrites your profile photo.
## Features
* In-app notifications – feed refreshes every 30 seconds.
* Comment and Attachment counts – you can now see the number of comments and files added to each card in a board.
* Added a Superthread app loading animation.
* Private projects will now display a padlock icon in the sidebar.
## Improvements
* Clicking on a board preview will now expand and collapse the preview.
* Clicking on a card in board preview will now open the card.
* A random cover image will automatically be added to new Pages when you click the cover image icon – you can still edit/change it as normal.
* You can now click a button to save a comment on a card (previously only Cmd + Enter worked).
* In a board, the view dropdown is now labelled 'kanban board'.
## Bug fixes
* Dragging multiple files on to a card to upload them now works correctly.
* Fixed an issue where native OS versions of fonts and icon would sometimes override the Superthread app.
* Draft Pages now behave more consistently.
## Features
* Privacy policy and terms of service are now public.
## Improvements
* When creating new cards, the creator is no longer automatically added as a member.
## Bug fixes
* Creating a new card with Shift + Enter will open the card and focus the card description.
* Pasting links containing an = will no longer break the URL.
* Using the card preview feature (hold space/shift whilst mousing over the card) no longer creates console errors.
* Last modified in cards now shows the correct user.
* Child cards within epics now show the correct colour for the column they are currently in.
* Archiving a card no longer breaks the manual ordering of cards within a column/list.
* Editing links in Pages now works more consistently.
## Features
* Browser tab names – using multiple tabs is now easier. The Card/Page/Board title will now be shown in browser tabs.
* Child cards now display the backlink to their parent epic.
* Drag cards in a Board nows feels a lot better when using a trackpad.
* Drag and drop file uploads – from your desktop on to a card to upload attachments.
## Bug fixes
* Extra wide image attachments are now displayed correctly.
* Non-functional icons, buttons, menus have been hidden.
* Pasting codeblocks (3 backticks) now works.
* Styling of in-line code in cards is now consistent when editing and viewing.
* Clicking links in card descriptions no longer focusses the description field.
## Features
* Markdown support in checklist items.
* Undo/redo support in Pages.
* Autoplay video attachments – they start playing immediately after clicking on them.
* Spacebar play/pause on videos.
* Login/logout now allows you to choose which Google account to use if you have more than one.
## Improvements
* Environment name in sidebar (Dev, Staging, Release etc).
* Can now submit new cards to a list using Cmd + Enter.
## Bug fixes
* Scroll bar in Cards no longer overlaps the collapse sidebar button.
* Long card descriptions no longer 'squash' the collapsed sidebar.
