AI duplicate detection – Superthread uses AI to detect if a card already exists for a given task. Suggested duplicates will appear in the sidebar of a card where you can decide to accept or reject creating a ‘duplicate’ card relationship between them.
AI tags suggestions – Superthread uses AI to suggest appropriate tags for a card. The suggestions are based on how your team have tagged similar looking cards in the past.
Getting started tips – new Superthread users will now see a list of tips in the sidebar to help them learn about all the features of Superthread.
Full screen cards – in addition to viewing cards as a modal, or docked on the side of your screen, you can now choose to view cards in fullscreen mode.
Resolve page comments – to prevent a page becoming cluttered with inline comments, you can now mark a comment as ‘Resolved’ when it is no longer relevant.
Toggle a space between Open or Private – you can now change a space’s visibility at any time from the Space settings page.
Desktop app navigation – when using the Superthread desktop app, the forward/back navigation buttons are always accessible, even when viewing a card modal.
Comment threads now display a timestamp for when when the most recent comment was posted.
When focussing in an empty line, we now display some help text that makes it easier to discover the slash menu and mention features.

Hide empty groups – in a board, if a group (column) contains no cards, you can now choose to hide the group to declutter your board. This new toggle can be found in the ‘Layout’ dropdown in the header of a board.
Side docked card – use the new layout button in the header of a card to change to side docked mode. This allows you to open cards on the side of your screen making multitasking a lot easier.

Copy/pasting text inside of a page will no longer copy the inline comments.
Text inside of a table cell in a page is no longer centre aligned.
Mentioning a board or card in a text heading will now scale the icon appropriately.

Card templates – you can now create card templates in the new Settings > Templates page. Templates can be applied to a card when creating a card with the keyboard shortcut C.
“Group-by” option in Boards – you can now group cards by assignee or tags. Use the ‘Layout’ dropdown at the top of a board to change the group-by from ‘group-by status’ to ‘group-by tag’ or ‘group-by assignee’.
Set background colour for table cells – when editing a table, you can now set a background colour on a cell.
Open cards anywhere in the app – clicking on a card used to open the card in the board that it belonged to, meaning you got yanked around the app and easily lost. Now instead, cards open on top of the page you’re currently looking at.
Change your account email address – it’s now possible to change the email address associated with your account. Just go to Settings > Account > Profile where you’ll be asked to re-confirm your login to start the process.
Table of contents – pages will automatically display a ‘table of contents’ in the right hand margin based on the headings (H1, H2, H3) that have been added in the page.
Effort estimation – you can now estimate how much work a Card is. Each Space can use a different estimation system, and we’ll automatically convert estimates if you move cards between them.
Inline images and videos in Slack – Superthread notifications and link previews that you see in Slack now include inline images and YouTube videos.
Card counts in Views – you can now see how many cards match your filter in a View.
Alphabetical sorting in menus – assignees and tags in dropdown menus are now sorted alphabetically so their order is predictable and consistent throughout the app.
We’ve added tooltips to explain what each button does in the floating text formatting toolbar.
Tweaked the ‘Manage spaces’ button in the sidebar to ‘Browse all spaces’.
In the tags picker dropdown, its now easier to see if you’re hovering on a workspace level tag, or just one from the current space.
We now automatically remove empty lines from the end of comments to make them more readable.
On the ‘Manage spaces’ screen, we now suggest creating a new space if your search returns no results.
Drafts for cards – when creating a card using the keyboard shortcut C, we’ll now remember a draft if you navigate away or accidentally close the modal.

Mentions redesign – when you type @ to mention something, the mention picker dropdown will now suggest a couple of cards, pages, boards, and spaces that you’ve recently visited.

Changing the status of a card will now default to positioning the card at the the top of the list instead of the bottom.
Tables are now supported in pages that are shared to the web.

Delete Spaces – you can now tidy up your workspace by deleting unused spaces. Deleting a space is a destructive action that will delete any boards, cards, and pages contained in it.
Filter by priority in a board – you can now filter cards in a board based on their priority value.
View two boards side by side – selecting the ‘2 column’ layout in a space homepage will now display each board preview as a vertically scrollable list of cards.
When hovering over a group of avatars, moving your cursor across each avatar in the group will now display each user’s profile immediately.
We’ve added a confirmation modal when deleting a View.

Slash menu – we now have a slash menu in our text editor. Just type / to bring up a list of commands for quickly formatting text and inserting content.
Team member profiles – hovering over a user’s avatar will now display their profile. Clicking the ‘View work’ button will show you all the cards they are currently working on.
Summary sidebar for Spaces and Boards – view high level information about the current Space or Board by clicking on sidebar button in the top right of the header.
Edit pages within Inbox – if you receive a notification about a page, you can now edit that page directly within the Inbox.
Mentions search now includes ‘Done’ and ‘Cancelled’ cards.
Creating new cards when a filter is applied to a board should now be less confusing. We’ve changed the background colour behind the applied filters to make them stand out more, and we also show a feedback message to indicate that your new card may be hidden by the filter.
When viewing a notification in the Inbox, clicking on the page name or card-ID in the breadcrumb will now navigate you directly to that page.
Changing a page icon is now easier. Clicking on the page icon will now open the icon picker immediately, instead of showing the old dropdown menu for Edit and Remove options.
Custom page icons (including emoji) – page icons are now more customisable and are displayed in more places throughout the app. Choose an icon from our own set, an emoji, or any image that you upload. The icon will be visible in the sidebar, breadcrumb, search results, beautified links, and pages that you share to the web.
Precise date/time stamps – hovering over the ‘2 days ago’ style timestamps in card activity and comments will now show you the precise date and time when the activity happened.
When sharing a page to the web, the colours, fonts, and styling of the shared page have all had a slight facelift to better match the look of the Superthread app.
You can now quickly set the ‘start date’ by clicking on the 3 dot menu on a card in a board.
You no longer have to adjust the volume every time you watch a video attachment. If you adjust the volume, we will now remember it for your device.
My work – we’ve created a new My work section in the sidebar dedicated to making it easy to find tasks that you’re currently working on. It has two tabs:
Assigned to me – this shows you all the tasks you’ve been assigned to, and are not in a ‘Done’ or ‘Cancelled’ status.
Created by me – this shows you all the tasks that you created in the last 30 days, and are not in a ‘Done’ or ‘Cancelled’ status.
Emoji icons for Spaces – you can now set an emoji as the icon for a space. Just click on the icon in the sidebar and choose your favourite emoji from the new ‘Emojis’ tab in the icon picker.
Emoji shortcodes – it’s now much easier to add emojis in cards, pages, and comments. Just start typing a colon : to bring up a list of emojis that you can search through and autocomplete by pressing Enter.
Workspace logo – you can now upload a logo for your workspace. This will be displayed at the top of the sidebar next to your workspace name.
Drag and drop into Favourites – you can now easily move cards into a favourited board using drag and drop. You can also drag a page onto a favourited page to make it a subpage of the favourite.
We’ve added buttons to quickly create a new card or page at the top of the sidebar.
Card descriptions and page bodies will now load faster.

Create cards from highlighted text – when highlighting some text, you will now see a ‘Add card’ button in the floating toolbar. This will open the card creation modal with the title pre-filled with your selected text. Saving the card will replace the highlighted text with a link to card.
Drag cards into favourited boards – you can now drag cards directly from an open board, into a favourited board in your sidebar.
The calendar icon for due dates will now change back to grey when a card is moved to a ‘done’ status. This means ‘done’ cards will no longer show as overdue.
Improved cursor behaviour when multiple people are collaborating in a page.
Browse and manage spaces – you’ll see a new ‘Manage spaces’ button at the bottom of the spaces section in the sidebar. This new spaces browser makes it much easier to browse, join, and leave spaces.
Link directly to a card attachment – the 3 dot menu on card attachments now has the option to copy a link. When you open an attachment link, images and videos will open directly in the media viewer. Generic files will be highlighted in the card.
Inbox filtering redesign – filtering your Inbox is now more intuitive. You can switch between the following modes:
New – only your unread notifications.
Unresolved – read and unread notifications that you have not marked as resolved (default mode).
Everything – all your notifications regardless of their read or resolved status.
Card due dates are now visible in a board – if a card has a due date set, instead of just displaying a calendar icon, you can now see a compact version of the date.
The performance of the list layout for boards has been improved so that scrolling is now much smoother.
The inline comment popup in pages now positions itself more intelligently so that long replies are no longer cut off by the edge of the browser window.
The ‘role’ dropdown in the invite user modal is now responsive on mobile.
Large beautified links no longer display outside the edge of the comment box.
After viewing a card attachment, the attachment ID in the URL is now removed when you navigate away from the card.
Hiding the card sidebar in the Inbox no longer hides the card sidebar for the rest of the app.
We no longer display a tooltip when hovering over a View in your favourites.
Editing a card title in the Inbox will no longer redirect you to view the card in its Board.

In the Trello importer, we removed the checkbox to import card cover images. They are always imported and will show in the attachments section of a card in Superthread.
Drag and drop to change dates in Timeline layout – you can now extend the due date, or tweak the start date just by dragging the edges of the card in the timeline.
In Timeline layout, card titles are now easier to read when zoomed out, or when the start-end dates are close together.
The 3 dot menu that appears when hovering over a card in a board now includes the option to copy the suggested git branch name.
Toggle Slack notifications for comment reactions on/off from the Notifications settings page.
Hovering over an item in your favourites will now reveal the breadcrumb path of its location.
Fixed a bug where hovering over a link inside of a checklist item and then clicking outside of it, would mean the user could no longer close the card.
Toggles in the settings pages now have the correct styles in dark mode.
Fixed an issue where opening a direct link to a card would always display the bell icon in the ‘unsubscribed’ state, even when you were actually subscribed to card updates.

Format text in checklist items – you can now highlight text in a checklist item and apply formatting (bold/italic etc) to it using the new floating toolbar.
Timeline beta – you can now change the layout of a board to ‘Timeline’. This allows you to view cards on a calendar timeline to easily compare start and end dates.
Floating toolbar for comments – when writing a comment, you can now highlight text and apply formatting options from the toolbar that opens next to the text.
Start dates – to support the timeline view, we have added ‘Start date’ as an optional field to cards.
More relevant search – results are no longer grouped into boards, cards, and pages. Now we just show results in order of how relevant they are to your search term.
In-app feedback redesign – the ‘toast’ style notifications that pop up in the bottom corner of the app have had a visual refresh.
Reaction notifications – when somebody reacts to one of your comments, you’ll now receive a notification.
Link directly to a Card comment – clicking on a notification will now open the card, scroll down to the comment, and highlight it, making it much easier to reply. You can also open the 3 dot menu on any comment to copy a link directly to it.
When leaving a space you will now be prompted to confirm your action. This is especially helpful when leaving a private space that you may not be able to rejoin.
When opening a child card, the ‘card created’ entry in the activity feed now correctly shows the activity for the child card, and not the parent.
When you archive an entire list (column) in a board, all of the cards in that list will now correctly display as archived.
We removed the clock icon from the board stats info panel.
When using keyboard navigation to select a card in a board, archiving the list will now move your keyboard selection to the next available card in an adjacent list, instead of breaking.
Quick edit cards – when in a Board or a View, you can now quickly edit card details without opening the card. Just click in the 3 dot menu on a card or use the new keyboard shortcuts:

Keyboard shortcuts are now displayed in dropdowns and menu options for actions where they are supported.
We’ve added a link to ‘Board settings’ in the 3 dot menu of a board, making it easier to discover how to configure your pull request automation workflows.
We’ve reduced the contrast of card outlines in board and list views to make it easier to focus on the card title.
The dark mode theme is now more consistent throughout the app, including tweaks to settings pages, pop-ups, board view, pages, views, and the space homepage.
Regular inline links now have a hover state and slight style tweak.
We’ve added new images to the empty state of a space that now look good in light and dark mode.
Keyboard navigation in Views – you can now use keyboard arrows ↑↓ to select a card in Views, Enter to open the card, and Esc to close it and go back to your position in the list.
Dark mode theme now also applies to the sign up/in flow and loading screen, and we changed the default theme to match your system setting.

When viewing an image attachment, pressing the browser back button will now close the media viewer and navigate back to your previous page.
Search filtering – it’s easier to find what you’re looking for with more relevant search results. By default, we’ll filter out cards that are in the statuses ‘done’ or ‘cancelled’. You’ll find the option to switch the filters on/off in the new filter button on the right hand side of the search bar.
Dark mode – we now support dark mode. You can change your preference in the new Appearance settings page.
Views – we’ve overhauled the design of our Views feature to make it easier to filter across your workspace to create custom views of only the cards that you want to see.
Filter on card status – for example, show me all the cards assigned to me that are not in ‘Done’.
Create a View from a Board – when applying a filter to a board, you’ll now see a ‘Save’ button which can be used to save the current filter as a new View.
Favourite Views – add any view to the favourites section of you sidebar.
New app theme – we’ve update the default ‘light mode’ theme throughout the app to better match our new website. This also lays the groundwork for an upcoming dark mode.
Drafts for card comments – when writing a comment on a card, if you need to close the card to double check some information, you can now re-open it and pick up where you left off without your unfinished comment being lost.
Child cards progress meter – when viewing a parent card, you can now see the total number of cards and a progress meter for them.
Automatically show/hide the sidebar – if you choose to close the sidebar, moving your mouse over to the edge of the screen will now automatically open it. You can also close/open sidebar using the new keyboard shortcut Cmd + \ on MacOS or Ctrl + \ on Windows.
Search redesign – the Cmd + k search bar has been refreshed to match the style of the rest of the app. We now include the status of each card in the results and clearly display which space each card/board/page belongs to.
Drafts for quick pages – when using the keyboard shortcut p to quickly create a new page, we now save whatever you type as a draft.
Fixed an issue where redirecting to the workspace picker screen would get stuck on a loading screen after logging in.
Dragging a board from one space and dropping it into the homepage of a different space now works again.
Fixed several instances where opening a card from your list of favourites, notifications, or linked parents cards would not display the correct space in the card’s breadcrumb.
When duplicating a card, changing the target space now correctly updates the list of boards you can select.
Card relationships – you can now express dependencies between cards. Just click on the 3 dot menu in a card header and select one of the 3 new relationships types:
Blocked by – when cards are dependent on each other.
Related to – when cards are related but not blocking.
Duplicates – when a card for this piece of work already exists.
Light themed sidebar – to better reflect the visual style of our new website, we’ve decided to go all in on light mode (for the time being).
Superthread Knowledge Base – we now have a place for users to discover more about Superthread functionality, all created using Superthead public pages.
Parent card progress indicators – when viewing a board, at a glance you can now see how close a card is to being completed based on the status of its child cards.
We’ve fixed lots of issues with the real time updates for cards, mostly related to archiving cards and creating parent/child relationships between cards in different spaces.
On mobile, the button for viewing the sidebar of a card now remains in the active state whilst the sidebar is open.
On mobile, we’ve adjusted the padding in the header of a page to create more room to display the page title.

Real time updates for Cards – when updating a card, other teammates that are viewing the same card will now see your updates being applied in real time.
Detailed card activity – the activity section in a card now includes activities for:

Sidebar tweaks for mobile – the sidebar in the app and Settings page now have increased spacing between items, buttons that are normally only visible on hover are now displayed, and we tweaked the position of dropdowns and menus so that they work on small screens.
We’ve tweaked the text on the Slack integration page and added a link to make Slack notifications easier to discover.
Mobile support – we’ve made lots of small tweaks, style changes, and behaviour updates to make viewing cards, pages, and boards much more usable on small screens.
Inline comments redesign – comments in a page have had a little redesign to better match the style of the rest of the app.
When a GitHub pull request is linked to a card, you can now see the repo the PR is from.
We’ve added a notification for when you are unassigned from a card, or removed from a space.
When opening a page, your cursor will no longer automatically focus on the first line of the page. This prevents the on-screen keyboard popping open on mobile and makes it easier to use keyboard shortcuts instead of typing in the page.
We’ve made the delete button for checklist items appear on hover, instead of being hidden in a 3 dot menu.
We fixed an issue when searching for child cards to add to a parent. The search results would not correctly filter out cards that had already been added as children.
We reduced the file size of some of the images we use in the app to speed up page load times.
Pages added to Space homepage – when navigating to a space in the sidebar, the homepage for a space will now display a list of all the boards and pages in the space.
Comment reactions – you can now react to comments and see the other emojis that your teammates have reacted with.
Offline browsing – if you lose your internet connection whilst using Superthread, you’ll now be able to continue browsing the app until you come back online.
You can now un-assign inactive team members from cards. This is useful for scenarios where somebody has left your workspace, not accepted a team invite, or was imported from Trello or Jira.
