Superthread notes (beta) – this is a new experimental feature to see if creating meeting notes in Superthread makes it easier to get information into your project management process. You’ll see a new ‘Notes’ tab in the My work section of the app. Lots more to come here.
All members can now configure Slack channel notifications for boards. Previously only workspace admins could do this.
When connecting an integration to Superthread (e.g. Zapier), the workspace picker screen will now display the logo associated with each of your workspaces.
Slack channel notifications for boards – receive updates in your chosen Slack channel (e.g. #engineering) whenever there’s activity in a board. Get notified when a card is added, moved to ‘Done,’ or when someone comments on a card. To enable this, go to your board’s settings and set up Slack notifications.
Group project cards by Space – when viewing the ‘cards’ tab in a project, the layout options now support the option to group the cards by the space they belong to.
Favourite the ‘current sprint’ – you can now favourite the ‘current sprint’ instead of a specific sprint. This way, when the current sprint ends and a new one begins, your favourite will automatically update to link to the new sprint, so you don’t have to update it manually.
Improved date management for sprints – when manually changing the start and end dates for a sprint, the date selection process has been simplified.
In a new workspace we now create some statuses in the Roadmap board for you.
Sprint notifications – you’ll now receive a notification when a card you are subscribed to is added to a sprint.
New icons for Projects – the status icons for a project are now hexagonal. This makes projects visually distinct when compared to regular cards. The hexagon icons are visible in search results, mentions, headers, and anywhere projects are displayed throughout the app.
Page settings – we’ve tweaked the options in the 3 dot menu for a page:
Table of contents – added a new option to show/hide the table of contents
Removed settings for ‘Full page width’, ‘Font’, and ‘Large text’
Pages shared to the web have been improved:
Fullscreen media viewer is now supported on pages that are shared to the web.
Inline file attachments can now be viewed and downloaded on pages that are shared to the web.
Clicking on the sprint or project in the sidebar of a card will now navigate to the sprint/project.
Removed the ‘Cards with no sprints’ sidebar from Sprints because it was impacting performance and was not that useful.
Improved navigation for lists of cards – the arrow buttons in the card header let you move to the next or previous card in the list. Before, if you changed the list a card was in (e.g. by changing its status or adding it to a sprint), the navigation arrows would shift to the new list. Now, the navigation remains consistent with the list where you originally began, making it easier to review cards in lists like ‘Backlog’ without losing your place.
Filter cards by ‘project’ – in boards and views you can now apply a filter to show cards that belong to specific projects.
More ways to mange cards in a project – when viewing a project, the cards associated with the project:
Display the space and board they belong to
Can be filtered based on which space or board they belong to
German and Polish language support – Superthread can now be used in German or Polish. Just head to Settings > Account > Profile to choose your preferred language.
Table of contents are now supported on pages that are shared to the web.
The activity feed on a project now uses the word ‘project’ instead of the word ‘card’ (e.g. Project description was updated).
Applying calendar layout to the Roadmap board no longer interferes with the layout options applied in the ‘Cards’ tab when viewing an individual project.
Changing the sort order in the ‘Cards’ tab of a project now works.
Cards in a completed sprint, or that had been rolled over to the next sprint, would not load correctly when opened from a project.
Automatic tag suggestions have been disabled for projects.
Fixed a race condition when converting a card to a project that would prevent its child cards being adding to the project.
Fixed an alignment issue in the card sidebar when using an emoji as a project icon.
In a Space homepage, Sprint preview boards are no responsive on narrow screens.
Notifications about deleted resources were not being rendered correctly in the Inbox.
Duplicating a board would fail if the board had the ‘create cards via email’ feature enabled.
Sprints – sprints are time-boxed periods for a team to complete a pre-defined set of work. They’re commonly used by engineering teams but are popular with other teams too. When enabled, Superthread will create special boards for viewing the work in your current sprint, planning your next sprint, and keep a record of what you got done in past sprints. You can turn Sprints on by going to Settings > Spaces > Sprints for your chosen space – learn more.
Search for, & favourite team members – you can now search for people in your workspace using the Cmd + K global search. This will take you to the ‘My work’ page for that team member. Whilst viewing their page you can also favourite it.
Project notifications in Inbox – subscribe to a project to receive notifications about it in your Superthread Inbox. This includes comments, being added as a assignee, or when a project is due soon or overdue. We plan to add Slack and email notifications soon
Roadmap notifications – you can now subscribe to a specific status/column in the Roadmap board to be notified when a project is added or moved into it
Filter by ‘parent card’ – you can now filter cards in a board or view based on which parent they have set
We’ve added a small progress meter to the ‘cards’ tab within a project
Move page menu option – drag and drop is not for everybody. Now you can use the 3 dot menu in the header of a page, or in the sidebar, to move a page to a new location.
When upgrading your Superthread plan, you can now set a custom billing email address. Previously it would be set to the workspace owner.
More ways to change card status – drag and drop is not for everybody. Now you can use the new ‘Change status’ option in the 3 dot menu of a card, or the new keyboard shortcut S. When ‘group-by’ tag or assignee is applied, you can click the status icon that is displayed on any individual card.
Filter by ‘status type’ in boards – if you like to ‘group-by’ assignee, or tags, you can now filter out cards that are ‘done’.
More themes – in addition to the existing light or dark mode, we’ve added a few more themes to the app. You can choose one from Settings > Account > Preferences.
The app sidebar now scrolls as one complete section which makes it more usable on small screens.
Projects and roadmap (beta) – create Projects for large, well defined, pieces of work. Projects live in your workspace Roadmap board and provide everybody a single source of truth for your companies priorities. Project cards are similar to epics or initiatives that you might be familiar with in other tools – learn more.
Branch-specific GitHub automation – update the status of a card when a linked pull request changes from draft/open/merged/closed in a specific target branch. For example if a PR is merged to staging, you can move the card to In QA. However if a PR is merged to main, then move the card to Deployed. These automation rules can be configured per board, so head to a board’s settings page to get setup.
Card sidebar redesign – we’ve tried to declutter the properties/fields on a card:
New simplified and unified design for all card properties.
Removed property labels to create more horizontal space for long names and titles.
Reduced the vertical spacing between items to make room for properties in the future.
Removed the ‘Creator’ property which is now shown as the first entry in a card’s activity feed.
Card ‘owner’ property has been deprecated – we observed that this field was rarely used, largely redundant, and created ambiguity when we already have an assignee field.
**Create cards via email **– create cards by sending or forwarding an email to a unique email address associated with a board. Cards will be created in the first status/column of the board. The email subject line will become the card title, the email body will become the card description, and any files will be added as attachments. You can turn this on via the settings page for each board.
‘Deleted’ notifications – you will now receive a notification when something you are subscribed to is deleted.
Workspace switcher – in the dropdown menu at the top of the sidebar you’ll now see a list of recently visited workspaces. This makes it easier to quickly switch between your most common workspaces.
Space Owners – we’ve introduced the concept of a ‘Space owner’. Previously any member of a space could modify space settings. Now only ‘Space owners’ (or Workspace admins) can modify them. The space owner:
Cannot be removed from the space.
Is the only person that can add users to a private space.
Can change the visibility of a space from open to private.
Sidebar redesign – the sidebar has been subtly redesigned to make it feel less cluttered:
The chevron to expand or collapse a space has been moved to the right to improve vertical alignment and make more room for space names.
The workspace logo and settings dropdown have been slimmed down to reclaim vertical space and align them with the breadcrumb in the headings of cards/pages/boards.
The number of items in the ‘Getting started’ section in the sidebar has been reduced to focus on the most useful links and actions for users to discover.
Quote and reply – this will automatically copy the contents of the comment and format it as a quote block in the reply field. This is useful for replying to a specific comment within a thread. Find the option in the 3 dot menu of a comment.
We added an option to go to the ‘Manage templates’ settings page in the template picker dropdown.
We now also show blocking and blocked flag icons when using the list layout.
You can now use keyboard arrows to select a date in the date picker popup.

Easier board filtering – click the filter button or press the keyboard shortcut F, then just search for anything you want to filter on. Previously you had to select a category such as tag or assignee, but now the search will find options within each category.
Added a ‘delete card’ option in the 3 dot menu for child cards.

Pages and documents should appear to open and load faster than they did before.
Search filtering – it’s now easier to find what you’re searching for with filters for Spaces, Statuses, and content Types
Callouts in the editor – callout blocks are useful for highlighting specific text or breaking it out from the rest of a document. Perhaps you want to add a warning, a tip, etc. You can add them in pages, card descriptions, or comments using the slash command /callout.
