Import from Trello
Learn how to migrate your Trello boards and cards into Superthread
Import from Trello
Migrate your Trello boards and cards into Superthread seamlessly. We’ll preserve your data structure, including cards, lists, labels, members, and more.
Getting Started
To start a Trello import:
- Go to Settings > Workspace > Importers
- Select Trello from the available import options
- Log in to your Trello account and grant Superthread permission to read your boards
- Review and confirm the import options before proceeding
Data Mapping
We’ll map your Trello data to Superthread fields as follows:
Trello Field | Superthread Field |
---|---|
Title | Title |
Description | Description (includes link to original Trello card) |
Labels | Tags (space level) |
Members | Assignees |
Due date | Due date |
Checklists | Checklists |
Comments | Comments |
Attachments | Attachments |
Cover image | Attachments |
Card Status Mapping
Since Trello doesn’t have native card statuses, we map your lists (columns) to appropriate Superthread statuses based on their names:
Backlog Status
Lists containing these words will map to “Backlog”:
- Unstarted
- Not started
- Backlog
- Todo
- To do
- to-do
In Progress Status
Lists containing these words will map to “In Progress”:
- Doing
- Progress
- QA
- Quality
- Pull
- Review
- Pause
- Wait
- Started
Done Status
Lists containing these words will map to “Done”:
- Done
- Finished
- Complete
- Closed
- Deployed
- Production
- Shipped
- Live
After Import
- All imported cards include a link back to their original Trello location
- You can view your import history in Settings > Workspace > Importers
- You can map Trello members to Superthread team members during the import process
- Attachments are imported either as inline images in the description or added to the card’s attachments section
