Migrate your Trello boards and cards into Superthread seamlessly. We’ll preserve your data structure, including cards, lists, labels, members, and more.

Getting started

To start a Trello import:
  1. Go to Settings > Workspace > Importers
  2. Select Trello from the available import options
  3. Log in to your Trello account and grant Superthread permission to read your boards
  4. Review and confirm the import options before proceeding

Field mapping

We’ll convert your Trello cards to Superthread cards as follows: We do not support custom fields.

List/card status mapping

Trello doesn’t have a concept of card statuses, so you never really know if a card has been completed or if it is just in a column that happens to be called “Done.” In Superthread, we make this distinction explicit so the system can report progress. Each list or column can still be named whatever you like, but it also has a status property: backlog, not started, in progress, done, or cancelled. Based on your Trello list names, we try and set the appropriate ‘status’ for each of them:

Backlog status

Lists containing these words will be set to the ‘Backlog’ status:
  • Unstarted
  • Not started
  • Backlog
  • Todo
  • To do
  • to-do

In progress status

Lists containing these words will be set to ‘In progress’ status:
  • Doing
  • Progress
  • QA
  • Quality
  • Pull
  • Review
  • Pause
  • Wait
  • Started

Done status

Lists containing these words will be set to the ‘Done’ status:
  • Done
  • Finished
  • Complete
  • Closed
  • Deployed
  • Production
  • Shipped
  • Live

After import

  • All imported cards include a link back to their original Trello location
  • You can view your import history in Settings > Workspace > Importers
  • You can map Trello members to Superthread team members during the import process
  • Attachments are imported either as inline images in the description or added to the card’s attachments section
