Superthread Terminology

This guide explains Superthread’s core concepts and how they are used in your workspace.

Core Concepts

Workspace

Your organization’s main hub in Superthread. All your spaces, boards, and members live here.

Space

A group within your workspace that contains boards, pages, and team members. Spaces help organize work by team, project, or topic.

Board

A visual representation of your workflow. Boards contain cards and can be viewed in different layouts (Board, List, Timeline, Calendar).

Card

The basic unit of work in Superthread. Cards represent tasks, issues, tickets, or any actionable item.

Page

A collaborative document for documentation, notes, or specs. Pages can include rich text, images, and more. Pages are sometimes referred to as “docs” or “wikis” in Superthread.

Subpage

A page nested under another page, used to organize documentation hierarchically.

Sprint

A time-boxed period for completing a set of work. Sprints help teams deliver work in consistent cycles.

Roadmap

A high-level view of all major projects and initiatives for the entire workspace. The Roadmap contains all Projects across the workspace.

Project

A large initiative or goal tracked on the Roadmap. Projects can contain multiple cards and track progress over time.

View

A saved filter or custom perspective on your cards, boards, or workspace content.

Comment

A discussion thread on cards or pages, used for collaboration and feedback.

Additional Terms

Status

The current state of a card (e.g., To Do, In Progress, Done).

Tag

A label for categorizing cards. Tags help you organize and filter work.

Child Card

A card that’s part of a larger card. Used to break down work into smaller pieces.

Agent

An automation rule in Superthread that helps automate repetitive tasks and workflows.

A dynamic reference between items in Superthread, such as linking a card to a page or another card.

Note

A transcribed meeting or personal note, often created using Superthread’s transcription features.

Layout

The way cards are visually organized on a board. Superthread supports multiple layouts:

  • Board (Default): Kanban-style columns for each status.
  • List: A vertical, spreadsheet-like list of cards.
  • Timeline: A horizontal timeline showing cards by start and due dates.
  • Calendar (Beta): A calendar view displaying cards by their dates.

Common Actions

Mention

Tagging a team member or linking content using @.

Subscribe

Following updates on an item to receive notifications about changes.

Archive

Hiding an item from active view while keeping it for future reference.
