Use a built-in importer when one is available. It preserves more source-specific metadata than recreating cards through an AI assistant.
Built-in importer information
The following applies to the built-in Jira, Trello, and Shortcut importers:Data preservation
We preserve important metadata during the import process:- Original creator and creation timestamp
- Attachments (imported as inline images or card attachments)
- Links back to original items
- User mappings (you can map users to your Superthread team members)
Import history
You can view your import history and manage past imports at Settings > Workspace > Importers.Field mappings
Each import type has specific field mappings to ensure your data is transferred correctly. See the individual import guides for detailed mapping information: For every other supported source, see Import tasks with an AI assistant.After any import
After importing your data:- Review and organize your boards
- Check that all fields mapped correctly
- Verify user assignments
- Clean up any unnecessary tags or fields
- Update any automation rules if needed
