Slack integration

To help keep your communications unified, Superthread has an easy-to-configure integration with Slack that offers:

  • Link previews – Connect your Slack workspace to Superthread to preview key information from Superthread cards and pages when teammates paste links to them in Slack messages.
  • Personal notifications – Customise which Superthread activity you would like to be notified of in Slack. You can also reply to comments directly from Slack.
  • Notify a channel – When there is activity in a board, send notifications to a specific channel to let your team know. For example if a card is added to the ‘Engineering’ board, then alert the #engineering channel in Slack.

Our integration with Slack is available on all Superthread plans, including the free plan.

Setup guide

Connect your Slack workspace to Superthread to preview key information from Superthread cards and pages when teammates paste links to them in Slack messages.

To do this go to:

Settings > Workspace > Integrations > Slack

and toggle on Slack.

Once you’ve authenticated with Slack, we’ll show expanded links anytime somebody posts a link to a card or page from in Slack. URLs associated with private Superthread spaces do not unfurl.

Personal notifications

Customise which Superthread activity you would like to be notified of in Slack and reply to Superthread comments from within Slack.

To set this up go to:

Settings > Account > Notifications

and toggle on Slack to authenticate with your Slack account, then choose which notifications to receive.

A Superthread app will appear under ‘Apps’ section in your Slack workspace which is where these notifications will be sent.

Notify a channel

Get updates in your chosen Slack channel (e.g. #engineering) whenever there’s activity in a board. To enable this, go to your chosen board’s settings page and turn on Slack channel notifications.

When you switch them on, a new window will open where you will be asked to login into Slack and choose a channel.

After this you can select which notification types you would like to send to this channel:

  • New cards created
  • Cards moved between lists
  • New comments
  • Status changes
  • Due date changes
