Superthread quick start guide
Essential guide to get you up and running with Superthread, covering workspaces, spaces, boards, and core concepts
Getting Started
Download & Install
Superthread is available as a desktop app for macOS and a mobile app for iOS:
The desktop app provides full access to all features, while the iOS app is specifically designed for note transcription.
Create Your Workspace
When you first sign up, you’ll create a Workspace - typically named after your company or organization. This is where all your work happens.
Invite Your Team
Superthread works best when your entire team is in the same Workspace. Invite people by:
- Clicking the ‘Invite’ button at the bottom of the sidebar
- Going to Settings > Workspace > Members
Core Concepts
Spaces
Spaces help organize your work into smaller groups. They contain Boards, Pages, and team members. Spaces can be:
- Open - available for all workspace members to browse and join
- Private - only accessible to invited members (available on paid plans)
To create a space:
- Click the + button next to “Your Spaces” in the sidebar
- Enter a name and choose an icon
- Add team members (optional)
- Choose visibility (open/private)
Boards
Boards visualize your workflow and contain cards. You can:
- Create boards in any space
- Choose from four layouts: Board (default), List, Timeline, or Calendar
- Customize statuses to match your workflow
- Group and sort cards by various properties
- Filter cards using the
F
shortcut - Enable email-to-board for creating cards via email
Cards
Cards are your basic units of work (tasks, issues, tickets). You can:
- Create cards using the
C
shortcut from anywhere - Add properties like assignee, priority, due date, and tags
- Break down work using parent → child relationships
- Convert text to cards from pages
- Create cards via email (when enabled in board settings)
- Link cards to GitHub pull requests for status automation
- Use effort estimation (Fibonacci points, T-shirt sizes, etc.)
- Create relationships between cards (blocking, blocked by, related to)
Sprints
Sprints are time-boxed work periods for teams to complete predefined work. When enabled for a space, you can:
- Set sprint length (1-8 weeks) and start day
- Configure cooldown periods between sprints
- Automatically roll over unfinished cards to the next sprint
- Link cards to GitHub pull requests for status automation
- View current, upcoming, and completed sprints
- Favorite sprints for quick access
Projects
Projects represent large initiatives or epics on your roadmap. You can:
- Create projects in the Roadmap board
- Convert existing cards into projects
- Assign project owners and icons
- Track project progress through customizable statuses
- Subscribe to project status changes
- Link related cards to projects
Pages
Pages are collaborative documents for documentation, specs, and notes. You can:
- Create pages using the
P
shortcut - Use rich text, images, markdown, and inline comments
- Organize content with subpages
- Share pages publicly when needed
- Convert text to cards directly from pages
- Use page templates for consistent formatting
- Add icons and cover images for better visibility
Notes & Transcription
Transform meetings into actionable notes:
- Available on macOS desktop and iOS apps
- Works for both in-person and virtual meetings
- Real-time transcription with AI enhancement
- Calendar integration for meeting reminders
- Private to you by default
- Automatic meeting detection for impromptu conversations
Navigation & Productivity

Your main navigation hub includes:
- Notes - Access meeting transcriptions
- Inbox - View notifications and updates
- My Work - See cards assigned to you
- Views - Access saved filters across workspace
- Spaces - Browse and manage your spaces
- Roadmap - Track large projects
- Favorites - Quick access to important items
- Agents - Access workspace automations
Search
Find anything instantly:
